In Kosovo, a trade mark can be – a personal name, figurative element alone, a combined mark, label, word mark, mark comprised of letters or numbers, 3D – as long as it can be represented graphically.
There is a multiclass system in place, using the Nice classification.
Kosovo is not a part of any international treaties for the time being, so only direct/local applications are possible.
In Kosovo, there is an opposition system, meaning that once the application is published, there is a 3 month period during which, owners of previously filed or protected trade marks, can oppose the new application, as long as it is based on one of the reasons the law lists.
